Description
The Project Planner will be responsible for crafting, overseeing, and managing project schedules and budgets, ensuring that Tatu City’s residential and mixed-use construction projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role calls for dynamic collaboration with site teams, contractors, and project managers to guarantee alignment with the company's objectives and standards. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, including sequencing of construction activities for residential and infrastructure projects. Monitor daily and weekly site progress, verify subcontractor performance, and identify schedule variances against the baseline plan. Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections specific to ongoing developments. Review and validate subcontractor claims, interim payment applications, and variations for accuracy and compliance. Track materials, manpower, and equipment utilization to ensure alignment with project timelines and resources. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for management and key stakeholders. Maintain and update project risk registers, highlighting potential schedule or cost risks and recommending mitigation strategies. Support contract administration by assessing time and cost impacts of design or scope changes. Ensure compliance with company procedures, project governance standards, and local regulatory requirements. Coordinate with site engineers, quantity surveyors, procurement, and project managers to maintain accurate reporting and communication across teams. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management. 4 years of relevant experience in project controls, preferably in residential, mixed-use, or infrastructure developments. Strong understanding of construction sequencing and workflows for residential projects (structural works, finishes, MEP, and handover phases). Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Power BI is an added advantage. Experience in cost control, budgeting, and earned value management. Familiarity with Kenyan construction codes, approval processes, and local authority regulations. Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills. Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and within multidisciplinary project teams. Preferred Membership in a recognized professional body (e.g., EBK, IQSK, ICPAK). Experience working on developer-led or contractor-led residential projects in Kenya. Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
