Job Description: Project Procurement Lead
Role OverviewThe Project Procurement Manager/Lead is the procurement representative within industrial/EPC projects, responsible for supporting strategic and operational procurement activities throughout the bid and project lifecycle. The role combines project procurement coordination with sourcing execution and acts as a key interface between business, engineering, suppliers, and procurement stakeholders.
- Key ResponsibilitiesProject Procurement LeadershipAct as the primary procurement focal point for assigned projects
- Support the implementation and execution of project procurement strategies and plans
- Translate project targets into procurement actions aligned with cost, schedule, and quality objectives
- Ensure early involvement of procurement during development and engineering phases
- Apply procurement processes in compliance with company policies and external regulations
- Identify procurement risks and support mitigation actions
- Strategic Sourcing & ContractingSupport the development and implementation of contracting and sourcing strategies
- Identify, qualify, and manage consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, and suppliers
- Coordinate tendering processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP, EOI)
- Participate in commercial negotiations in coordination with business and category teams
- Support commercial evaluations, cost analysis, and supplier recommendations
- Contribute to contract preparation and execution with legal and contract management teams
- Supplier & Contract ManagementDevelop and maintain strategic supplier relationships
- Monitor supplier performance, KPIs, and compliance with:
- Contractual obligations
- ESG / CSR / sustainability targets
- Escalate and support resolution of supplier performance issues
- Support contract execution and administration activities
- Project IntegrationInterface with project teams, engineering, finance, and legal
- Support alignment of procurement activities with project timelines
- Contribute to cost competitiveness through market intelligence and benchmarking
- Risk & Cost ManagementSupport identification of procurement risks and implementation of mitigation plans
- Monitor procurement package budgets and cost evolution
- Contribute to achieving:
- Savings targets
- Performance improvements
- Value engineering initiatives
- Market IntelligenceConduct continuous market analysis and supplier benchmarking
- Identify innovative sourcing solutions and alternative suppliers

- Ensure alignment with procurement strategy and project objectives

- Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Procurement SkillsStrong knowledge of:
- EPC / industrial procurement processes
- Contracting strategies (lump sum, unit rate, framework agreements)
- Tendering and commercial evaluation
- Ability to manage complex technical packages (Mechanical, Electrical, Construction)
- Project Management SkillsUnderstanding of:
- Project lifecycle (FEED, execution, commissioning, O&M)
- Planning, scheduling, and cost control
- Ability to work in matrix project organizations
- Commercial & Negotiation SkillsEffective negotiation and influencing skills

- Engineering is a must, MBA Supply Chain, Project and Risk Management is plus
- Minimum:
- 8–10 years in procurement
- 4+ years in project procurement / EPC environments
- Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, or power generation projects
- Preferred CertificationsCIPS (Level 4–6)
- CIPP/CIPM, CISCP/CISCM
- CPSM / CSCP
- PMP (PMI) or RMP
- FIDIC or Contract Management certifications
