Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Procurement Professional with strong expertise in sourcing, contract management, and supplier negotiation within the energy sector. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of German market dynamics, relevant regulatory frameworks, and the local supplier landscape, particularly across renewable energy, utilities, and infrastructure projects.

This role requires proficiency across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, with a proven track record of optimizing cost, ensuring compliance, and supporting the timely delivery of critical goods and services. The successful candidate will demonstrate familiarity with EU procurement standards, local tax and logistics considerations, and the ability to manage and influence supplier relationships within multicultural and cross-functional teams. You will play a key part in strengthening procurement governance, driving value through strategic sourcing, and enhancing operational efficiency within a fast-evolving energy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong local supplier base to support renewable energy projects (solar and wind)
  • Lead RFQ and RFI processes, including cost benchmarking, bid evaluation, and supplier onboarding to ensure competitive and compliant sourcing outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with legal and technical teams to manage NDAs, negotiate contract terms, and conduct supplier and project risk assessments.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for utilities, with a strong preference for experience supporting TSO/DSO clients such as TenneT and Elia.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, project management, construction, and finance teams to deliver projects within tight timelines and budget constraints.
  • Oversee sourcing of critical grid-tied components, including MV switchgear, SCADA systems, battery enclosures, and transformers (preferred).

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement planning and project support, ideally within the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of EPC / turnkey project procurement, including technical specifications, commercial terms, and risk considerations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and subcontractor management.
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing, category management, and vendor onboarding.
  • Experience coordinating with engineering, legal, logistics, and project delivery teams to ensure smooth procurement execution.
  • Fluency in English and fluency in German
