Lightsource bp is currently seeking a Quality Advisor to support Solar Projects in the APAC region. This person will have the ability to interact with staff and contractors at all levels while taking a proactive approach to quality, safety, and compliance.
The Quality Advisor must drive the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and enhance the culture of Quality within Lightsource bp. Additionally, the position will assist key stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of quality practices and metrics into the business, including at project level, to ensure alignment with long-term corporate strategic plan and drive business unit improvement. The role requires supervision of field inspection activity, monitoring and reporting of field installations and the ability to resolve quality concerns with internal stakeholders, contractors, auditors, and independent inspectors.

KNOWLEDGE

  • In-depth knowledge in the implementation and monitoring of Quality Management Systems, Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, Control Plans, Inspection Checklists and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of project Quality requirements with the ability to predict likely modes of failure and identify predictors of nonconformance.
  • Working knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical construction trade programs such as Procore.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and other quality standard and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong computer literacy and understanding on document control.
  • Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite line of software tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years Quality experience or has an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Must have the ability to travel 30-40% of the time to construction sites and operating solar plants as well as the Lightsource bp Australia offices

EXPERIENCE

  • More than 5 years’ experience as a dedicated quality professional. Can demonstrate competence in collaborating with teams, strategic planning, management systems, as well as delivering value-add metrics, driving improvement programs, and providing training preferably within a utilities grade and renewable energy company. Auditing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Quality function across all project activities in the APAC.
  • Monitors project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Manage supplier and contractor quality on projects.
  • Reporting impactful quality metrics on the operational performance across the portfolio of projects.
  • Provide oversight of field inspection activity, monitoring and reporting of field installations and the ability to resolve quality concerns with internal stakeholders, contractors, auditors, and independent inspectors.
  • Assist in the proper review of quality contract requirements for tier-one contractors, drive standardization of the requirements and consistent inclusion in contracts.
  • Be a strong advocate for team ethos between the EPC management team, site Quality representatives, and project stakeholders.
  • Interface with other departments and supplier/contractor representatives and distribute relevant documentation.
  • Develop reports (including key metrics), business documents, procedures, and manuals to support a standardized way of working.
  • Report on emerging warranty and reliability issues and lead cross functional teams to review potential quality or warranty risks.
  • Drive quality initiatives to drive cost down and improve project budgets.
  • Promote the use of the Global QMS to create a culture of right first time.
  • Participate in new product introductions and ensure quality requirements are addressed and suitable.
  • Assist with resolution of Quality concerns (e.g., NCRs) as well as supporting investigations, incidents, and Lessons Learned where required.
  • Ability to influence and network with other renewable energy developers, product suppliers, and contractors.
