We are looking for a project quantity surveyor to join one of our multi-skilled organisation based in Montrose.

Responsibilities

As a member of our Surveying Team, you will oversee the commercial aspects of projects and identify opportunities to optimize profit margins. Key responsibilities include:

  • Commercial Oversight: Manage the day-to-day commercial and surveying activities for allocated projects, reporting to the Surveying Director.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure all commercial matters align with operational delivery.
  • Cost Planning: Develop project cost plans and collaborate with design and operations teams during the pre-construction phase.
  • Procurement: Procure subcontract work packages and prepare detailed tender reports before subcontractor appointments.
  • Valuations and Reporting: Measure and value on-site works, prepare monthly valuations, manage commercial reporting, identify variations, and control expenditure.
  • Risk Management: Consider health and safety, risk, and margin in all activities.
  • Subcontractor Payments: Ensure compliance with subcontract terms and facilitate subcontractor payments.

Qualifications: Holds relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
Experience: Has at least 5 years proven experience in a Contracting Quantity Surveying role (preferred).
Technical Skills: Is proficient in Microsoft suite and surveying software.
Communication: Excels in both independent work and team collaboration, with strong organizational and communication skills.
