Description

The Project Rise Program Coordinator is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and implementation of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Project Rise initiative in the City of Utica. This role involves developing and managing program plans, supporting community violence prevention efforts, and ensuring the effective delivery of services and outcomes. The Program Coordinator will work effectively with 4 lead organizations as well as multiple grassroots organizations to ensure effective programming in the City of Utica.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, with the ability to be flexible for evenings and weekends.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in case management or human services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of violence prevention strategies and community landscape.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in program design, management, or supervision is required.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of the City of Utica and effective community violence prevention strategies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and community stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data systems and public program reporting requirements is essential.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with using a computer, smartphone and related technology; must maintain data tracking systems, including case notes. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite software is important.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full implementation of DCJS Project Rise, including vision, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day coordination of multidisciplinary teams engaged in community-based violence prevention and intervention.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, agency staff, and partner organizations on program planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Monitor program milestones and outcomes, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
  • Lead data collection, reporting, and analysis to support program accountability and continuous improvement. Review and analyze program data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate trainings and capacity-building initiatives that strengthen local response to violence and enhance professional development.
  • Prepare and submit program reports to leadership, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent Project Rise at community meetings and forums to ensure client access to necessary services and resources.
  • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including the New York State Division of Criminal Justice, the identified lead organizations, the identified grassroots organizations and other local nonprofits.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, on an as needed basis.
