THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills, relationship building, be passionate about the health and safety of people and a team-first approach.
  • Minimum Diploma qualification in OHS.
  • Minimum of 10 years of civil construction or relevant industry experience.
  • Previous experience leading teams or in a management role.
  • Auditing qualifications in OHS.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training.
  • Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator Certification.
  • Certification in First Aid.
  • Emergency Response Training.
  • Working in Confined Spaces and Work at Heights.
  • Knowledge of Excavation Safety, Basic Scaffolding, Basic Rigging, Plant Observer / Spotter.
Responsibilities

As Project Safety Manager, you will ensure compliance with our Safety policy and systems as the champion of a positive safety culture. Developing a good rapport with site staff, you will lead by example and set best practice standards.

  • Champion SWC initiatives / KPI’s as well as develop and implement additional improvement strategies/initiatives as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant company, government and client legislation, plans, standards and specifications.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and application of legislation, industry standards and technological innovations as relevant to your role.
  • Report all relevant information in an accurate and timely manner, as well as develop solutions to relevant issues.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of external certification of the safety management system as requested.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation, implementation and maintenance of systems, plans, procedures and strategies.
  • Mentor site personnel to improve workplace health and safety.
