Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.     Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.    We currently have an opportunity for a Project Scheduler in Canberra or Melbourne.       What You’ll Do      This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:    * Develop and manage Integrated Master Schedules, providing expert scheduling advice and using tools such as MS Project to support IADB project delivery.  * Support project reporting and workflow management, ensuring effective use of ServiceNow across the branch for project management activities.  * Create and maintain visual workflow tools, including Kanban boards and, where required, JIRA boards for selected branch projects.  * Engage regularly with Project Managers and Directors, contributing to the development of Schedule Management training materials and Standard Operating Procedures.  * Provide technical schedule‑management expertise, supporting APS capability uplift while assisting with ad‑hoc and priority tasks as directed by the Commonwealth.    What You’ll Bring    * Strong project scheduling and planning expertise, including the ability to develop and manage Integrated Master Schedules using tools such as MS Project.  * Experience with project management systems, particularly supporting project reporting and workflow activities within ServiceNow, and familiarity with Kanban boards and JIRA.  * Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills, enabling regular collaboration with Project Managers and Directors to develop training materials and SOPs.  * Ability to provide technical schedule‑management guidance, supporting capability uplift and knowledge development across APS staff.  * Flexibility to support branch priorities, including delivering ad‑hoc project management tasks and responding to evolving Commonwealth requirements.    Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
