PROJECT SCIENTIST – OFFSHORE ENERGY

Location: Tacarigua, Trinidad
CSA Ocean Sciences (Trinidad) Ltd., part of CSA Ocean Sciences Inc., serves the environmental planning and surveying needs of the offshore energy industry in Trinidad and Tobago and internationally. We are seeking an energetic and motivated Project Scientist with proven experience in offshore energy or closely related fields.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, is a quick learner, and brings strong leadership and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering customized, competitive, and high-quality services to our energy industry clients while upholding the standards of a research scientist.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Scientist will actively contribute to projects, proposals, report preparation, and technical reviews. Depending on qualifications and skills, opportunities for fieldwork and training on specialized offshore equipment may be available.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Coastal and/or offshore field sampling experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience conducting environmental impact assessments.
  • Offshore environmental baseline/post drilling survey experience.
  • Safety and environmental hazard training.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data integration.
Responsibilities
  • Support multiple projects as a scientist and/or assistant project manager/project manager, as required.
  • Track and demonstrate project progress to internal teams and external clients.
  • Apply quality assurance and quality control procedures for data and deliverables.
  • Develop and review technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Contribute to proposal development and business growth efforts.
  • Travel as required to provide on-site or on vessel support for field-based campaigns.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety and quality management standards.
  • Foster positive interactions with internal teams and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
