QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or a related discipline. Three or more years directly relevant professional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of fund accounting generally and specifically Texas school district financial operations.
  • Knowledge of Career and Technical Education programs
  • Expertise in budgeting, accounting, and reporting for various funds.
  • Competency with financial reconciliations and reporting or presenting budget updates.
  • Expertise designing, implementing, and monitoring financial and purchasing processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and databases.

Experience:

  • Texas public school experience preferred.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software preferably Munis by Tyler Technologies preferred

Responsibilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provide support in planning, purchasing, and receiving various Career and Technical Education (CTE) hardware and software, equipment, and furniture. Schedule delivery, set-up and inventory all Bond assets. In addition, this position will provide or acquire direction, training, and technical support for CTE equipment. Maintain accurate accounting of all Bond funds and process all requisitions, invoices or transfer of expenses as it relates to CTE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procurement and Accounting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc financial reports that support effective administration of the bond program.
  • Monitor bond program expenditures to ensure ongoing quality support for management decisions.
  • Perform complex financial reconciliations.
  • Serve as the CTE department point person in communicating with the district’s Planning and Construction department.
  • Collaborate with district buyers to plan and execute all FFE transactions.
  • Assist facilitators in process improvement efforts in areas or responsibility.
  • Assist in the procurement process to ensure all vendors needed by the CTE department are identified and the process for approval is seamless.
  • Engage in the evaluation of current CTE inventory practices; assist to create and implement a process for inventory management.
  • Monitor all CTE requisitions to ensure that any equipment purchased has the proper fixtures and facility capacity.
  • Maintain a timeline and scope of CTE bond projects.
  • Support facilitators in conversations with teachers for FFE recommendations.
  • Assist the CTE department with record keeping, special events, and programming implementation.
