Description

We are seeking a skilled VB.NET and RFID Specialist to develop, maintain, and support applications and systems integrating RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology with VB.NET-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in .NET development, experience working with RFID hardware and protocols, and the ability to translate operational requirements into robust software solutions that improve traceability, automation, and inventory control.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Proficient in VB.NET, Windows Forms, and .NET Framework.
  • Hands-on experience with RFID hardware and software systems.
  • Understanding of RFID communication protocols (EPC Gen2, ISO/IEC 18000 series, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SQL Server or other relational databases.
  • Experience with API integration (REST, SOAP) and interfacing with PLCs or SCADA systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with RFID vendors such as Impinj, Zebra, ThingMagic, or similar.
  • Familiarity with middleware platforms (e.g., BizTalk, Kepware, custom solutions).
  • Knowledge of barcode systems, IoT, or automation technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain VB.NET applications integrated with RFID systems.
  • Configure and support RFID readers, antennas, and tags (e.g., UHF, HF, passive/active).
  • Implement middleware and interfaces between RFID hardware and databases or ERP systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware issues related to RFID functionality.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT teams to understand process requirements and recommend RFID-enabled solutions.
  • Document technical specifications, workflows, and system designs.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and optimal RFID read performance in various environments (e.g., warehouse, manufacturing).
  • Provide software updates, patches, and deployments.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and technical staff.
