Responsibilities

DAY TO DAY, YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

Lead and manage a team of telecom technicians in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications systems, including VoIP, fiber optics, radio communication, and satellite systems
Assign tasks, create work schedules, and provide technical support to team members to ensure timely completion of projects and tasks
Oversee the routine maintenance and troubleshooting of telecom systems to ensure operational reliability and minimise downtime
Diagnose and resolve issues related to network connectivity, hardware failures, signal interference, and system malfunctions
Plan, coordinate, and execute telecommunication projects, ensuring that technical requirements are met, project timelines are adhered to, and resources are allocated effectively
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of telecom projects
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to supervisors, identifying potential delays and proposing solutions to keep projects on track
Conduct regular inspections of telecom systems to ensure compliance with technical and quality standards
Lead system upgrade projects, including replacing outdated equipment, expanding network coverage, and integrating new technologies into existing telecom infrastructure
Manage the inventory of telecom materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring that necessary resources are available for ongoing and upcoming projects
