TEMPORARY – 12 MONTHS

Are you passionate about working with communities and making a real difference? Do you have excellent communication skills and experience in managing social media, writing engaging content, and building relationships? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are looking for a Project Support Officer to join the Gleadless Valley Regeneration Team on a 12-month temporary contract. This role is key to supporting the delivery of the regeneration in Gleadless Valley, which sets out ambitious plans for the area over the next 10+ years.
Sheffield City Council’s vision for Gleadless Valley is for it to continue to be a great place to live, grow up, and grow older, with fantastic green spaces, good-quality housing, and a strong sense of community spirit.

As Project Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in engaging with the community, managing communications, and supporting various regeneration projects. Your work will include:

  • Social media management – creating engaging content and keeping residents informed.
  • Writing newsletters and updates to share progress on regeneration projects.
  • Attending community events to connect with residents and stakeholders.
  • Providing project support across different areas of the masterplan.

This role will give you valuable experience in project management, community engagement, and communications, helping you develop key skills for your career.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
✅ Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
✅ Experience using social media platforms to engage different audiences.
✅ Confidence working directly with communities and stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner.
✅ Strong IT skills, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
✅ Resilience and adaptability, with the ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations.
