Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for a Project Technical Manager in Ras Gharib, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. The Project Technical Manager will be responsible for all the technical deliverables from project structuring through to technical handover on the Interconnection Works (MV Switchgear, HV substations and OHLs) for a dedicated Scatec project, or portfolio of linked projects. Main responsibilities Support to Structuring Phase of projects: During the structuring phase, the Project Technical Manager has several key functions: review and approval of technical supply contracts ensuring that the Plant is technically compliant with the PPA, Grid Code and other critical project documents (such as the Scatec functional requirements, project programme and permit and licensing conditions etc.), Monitoring and facilitating the review of the Contractors detailed design, ensuring compliance with Scatec functional requirements, site and permit and licensing conditions, local codes and industry best practice Ensuring that the project programme is reasonable and accurately considers the detailed Design Timeline, key equipment procurement and allowance for commissioning, testing and local Grid Connection requirements. Manage and interface with contractors and equipment suppliers to establish, negotiate and align all technical aspects / approvals of the project. Manage the complete Utility interface process on behalf of Scatec from approval of detailed design, through construction, and completion under the Grid Connection Agreement / EPA Establish timelines and schedules based on the project schedule and contracts to ensure successful interconnection, commissioning, and grid code compliance. Assist the PM to establish and mitigate technical risks through an effective and updated Risk Register. Support to projects in delivery/execution As the project moves into execution, the Project Technical Manager’s role is continuation and development on the above: Manage and assess design change requests to be approved by the Lead Engineer and Project Manager Manage, clarify and agree interfaces towards the grid and the grid operator Act as technical quality gate and align with consultant to ensure consultant is following project requirement. Management of Governmental/Public/Grid Operator Stakeholders with approval process related to technical documentation and permits, licenses, authorizations, concessions needed during the execution of the HV and TX scope until COD. Attend and support project meetings with contractors and utilities. Visit site on a regular basis to ensure that construction is being implemented as per the design, utility requirements and in line with relevant technical standards and desired Provide early warning to the PM on any issues in the project that may influence connection dates or the quality of the final product Contribute to drafting the relevant project reports (Bi-weekly, monthly etc.). Establish the plant commissioning and utility compliance plans and procedures. Plan and manage the Grid Code Compliance tests on site. Support in project close out phase by preparing and gathering technical documents as needed to achieve TTO on time. Qualifications and competencies Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronical or Electromechanical Engineering 7+ year of Project Engineering experience - Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction projects with Sub Stations and Transmission Lines Previous experience of handling communication with local utilities and other relevant authorities and stakeholders An excellent knowledge of MS Office Based in Country and able to travel to site frequently.
