Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent would be an asset.
  • Certification as a CET or P. Tech. would be an asset.
  • Experience in materials testing of asphalt concrete, soils, and aggregates.
  • Willingness to work away from headquarters and ability to travel.
  • Must possess a valid driver license, with a favorable driver’s abstract
Responsibilities
  • Performing field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregate and asphalt concrete.
  • Sieve analysis and density testing using nuclear density gauges.
  • Preparation of Proctors and Marshall molds, asphalt cement content, sand equivalents, Atterberg limits and moisture content (testing is undertaken in accordance with Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways procedures, CSA and ASTM standards).
  • Providing quality control and quality assurance on a variety of laboratory and field-testing projects.
  • Preparing of field and testing reports.
  • Undertaking preliminary design and construction surveying for field culvert and road construction supervision with an emphasis on GNSS RTK surveying.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
