Damen Cargo Vessels, part of Damen Shipyards, builds a wide range of ships specifically designed for transporting various types of cargo. Our vessels range from container ships and bulk carriers to tankers and multipurpose vessels.

Project management and engineering take place in Gorinchem and Drachten (mainly Drachten). The construction of our ships takes place in China and Vietnam.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or another relevant technical study.
• 10+ years of experience in the design and engineering of complex shipbuilding or offshore projects with a focus on E&A.
• Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Willingness to travel.

THE ROLE:

As Project Manager Engineering Electrical & Automation (PME E&A), you are responsible for coordinating the E&A dossiers.
The role does not involve leading a team of engineers but coordinating internal and external activities and collaborating with project managers and colleagues in shipbuilding and mechanical engineering. You are involved in the entire spectrum from conceptual designs to commissioning and delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Taking responsibility for the assigned project to achieve targeted results for planning, quality, and costs.
• Coordinating the flow of information from various stakeholders within the project.
• Advising and coordinating with the Project Manager on all E&A related matters.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable rules and interface requirements with suppliers.
• Organizing and/or participating in project integration reviews.
• Participating in tests and trials such as HIL testing, HAT, and SAT.
