ABOUT THE POST:
An opportunity has arisen to work in our Healthier Communities Team as a projects and Contracts Officer. We are looking for candidates with a passion for improving the lives of our residents, with vision and the ability to work effectively with partners to deliver excellent services and outcomes for our customers.
A comprehensive understanding and experience of working in a complex environment, planning and co-ordination, the commissioning process, contracting and performance monitoring is required.
The postholder will work within a portfolio that leads on the development and delivery of interventions to reduce the impact of poverty and food insecurity, and the provision of support to the Armed Forces Community. This includes the delivery of the Department for Educations Holiday Activity and Food Programme, and distribution of the Household Support Fund.
The role is varied, and you will be required you to work at pace to support the development and delivery of interventions to meet new and emerging need. The roll also includes contract monitoring, performance management and financial accountability, and you should have experience and an understanding of all aspects of the commissioning cycle.
Poverty and food insecurity ae complex, ever changing and emotive subjects and it is essential you have an understanding of these subjects. You should also have an understanding of the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, and the challenges faced by members of the Armed Forces Community.
