PROM ADVISOR

Job Description

• Event Planning & Supervision
• Work with the junior class to select an appropriate prom theme.
• Assist in the design and purchase of decorations and materials, ensuring all purchases remain within the approved budget.
• Supervise students during decoration setup and takedown to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to the chosen theme.
• Coordinate with school administration, custodial staff, and other stakeholders to secure event space and manage logistics for the banquet and prom.
• Fundraising Management
• Organize and oversee fundraising efforts to support prom expenses.
• Lead the primary fundraiser—selling concessions meals (excluding popcorn, candy, or soda) at home sporting events.
• Plan menus, purchase food and supplies, prepare food, and supervise the sale of concession items.
• Track income and expenses from fundraising activities, providing reports to administration when requested.
• Budget & Record Keeping
• Develop and maintain an event budget, ensuring expenditures do not exceed available funds.
• Maintain accurate records of fundraising revenue, expenses, and vendor receipts.
• Student Leadership Development
• Guide students in decision-making, time management, and teamwork to successfully execute the event.
• Promote student ownership and accountability for tasks and responsibilities.
• Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all activities comply with district policies, safety regulations, and venue requirements.
• Supervise students during all prom-related activities, including setup and teardown.
