Job Title: Food & Beverage Assistant
Reports to: Bar Manager
Location: Prom Bar, The Riverside Park Hotel & Leisure Club
We are looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Food and Beverage Assistant to join our busy team here in the hotel. This role is key in ensuring guests receive exceptional service, whether they’re enjoying a meal, a drink, or a special event. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, balancing bar service, food running, and general hospitality duties. Shifts may include late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service:

  • Provide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all guests.
  • Take and process food and drink orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy.
  • Offer recommendations on menu items, including food and beverages.
  • Ensure prompt service and proactively engage with guests to enhance their experience.

Bar & Beverage Service:

  • Prepare and serve a wide range of drinks, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and recognise when to refuse service.
  • Maintain a clean and organised bar area, ensuring stock levels are adequate.

Food Service & Table Maintenance:

  • Assist in delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests’ tables.
  • Ensure correct food presentation and verify special requests.
  • Set up and clear tables efficiently, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

Upkeep & Cleanliness:

  • Keep the bar, dining, and service areas clean and well-organised.
  • Follow hygiene and sanitation standards to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist with end-of-shift cleaning tasks, including restocking supplies.

Guest Interaction & Problem-Solving:

  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
  • Anticipate guest needs and go the extra mile to provide a memorable experience.

Cash Handling & Compliance:

  • Process payments accurately, including cash, card, and room charges.
  • Follow hotel policies on cash handling, stock control, and security.
  • Adhere to all food safety, health, and licensing regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for providing outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (training provided).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and late nights as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From €13.80 per hour
Expected hours: 31 – 36 per week
