POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Merchandising Promotions the incumbent creates and transmits promotional events communications for stores. The incumbent oversees the co-ordination of various order generations and exception lists, run reports and maintain spreadsheets and promotional calendars.

  • This position requires a demonstrated level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects. Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships.
  • Requires an understanding of inter-related work processes to be able to adapt to differing assignments.
  • Provides routine information to coordinate the assignments and work procedures of others.
  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with clients and associates including senior management.
  • Draws on a number of known options to solve problems and to develop improvements.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Computer skills to produce effective reports, documents and presentations as required.
  • Understanding of merchandising, promotional practices and procedures.

EDUCATION & JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Post-secondary courses in business, marketing, merchandising or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Greater than two years, but less than or equal to three years business, marketing or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Writes store communications to ensure all stores have accurate promotional event information and provides promotional direction.
  • Provides weekly On-Call Coverage for any Flyer issues that arise on Saturday’s to stores/rest of the business
  • Provides weekly support to the Manager and Sr. Director in preparing / updating financials and layout information for the weekly Ad Meeting
  • Creates event flyers, master event package and other promotional materials to provide clear and accurate direction at the store level and entire business
  • Responds to emails and telephone enquiries from other departments to resolve issues or concerns in a prompt and effective manner.
  • Maintains and updates new Capital Plan stores on all MOG inclusion lists and flyer event transmissions based on store criteria.
