Description

Stacey Danley at Aplin has partnered with our south Winnipeg client on the search for a Property Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of residential properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with an interest in property management.
Please note this is a full-time, Monday-Friday permanent role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A diploma or degree in accounting (or equivalent real estate accounting experience)
  • 1+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Property accounting experience or exposure to property management
  • Proficiency with Yardi software and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly property financial statements
  • Posting monthly journal entries and adjustments (e.g., deferred rent, amortization, prepaid expenses)
  • Reconciling rental revenue to the rent roll
  • Calculating operating cost recovery adjustments
  • Verifying proper coding of payables through general ledger reviews
  • Preparing monthly GST remittances
  • Collaborating directly with the property management team to ensure accuracy and clarity in reporting
