Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and record amortization schedules for intangible assets such as goodwill, patents, and prepaid expenses, ensuring proper recognition in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to maintain internal controls and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Conduct financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.

Requirements of the Senior Accountant:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and ERP systems (Yardi Preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • On-Site in Palm Beach, FL
