We are seeking an Accounting professional who will work with a team who is responsible for the accounting and reporting of a portfolio of multifamily apartment communities and support the assigned portfolio's residential operations. As a Property Accountant you will perform accounting tasks that support the residential management division. Essential Job Functions Maintain the general ledger trial balance, review invoices, and ensure transactions are properly recorded in a timely manner for a portfolio of residential properties. Oversight of transactions recorded to accounts receivable and accounts payable for a portfolio of residential properties. Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures and financial reporting, including applicable tax and audit requirements for a portfolio of residential properties. Determine, document, implement, and ensure ongoing compliance with all residential accounting procedures. Collaborate with on-site property management teams to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained. Assist in creating and updating annual operating budgets for a portfolio of residential properties. Utilize technology in a forward-thinking manner to drive business efficiencies and improved performance. Requirements Required Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Effective interpersonal skills Strong Microsoft Excel skills Detail oriented Self-motivated Strong customer service skills Ability to prioritize and handle multiple duties simultaneously Preferred Skills: Experience with Yardi or other property management software Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience Experience: Required: 1-3 years accounting experience Preferred: Property accounting experience Still Undecided?
