Description Principal Objectives of the Area Manager Principal Objective of Position: The Property Accountant is responsible for managing accounting functions, including cash management, payroll accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, consolidation and reporting. This position will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP, company policies and guidelines, as well as internal controls. This role will provide support to the Director of Accounting and other operational leaders as necessary. Responsible for the U.S. GAAP general ledgers, consolidation and reporting for company’s portfolio Perform all aspects of month/quarter/year-end closes, prepare monthly reporting packages and quarterly reporting schedules Prepare monthly consolidated trial balance, quarterly consolidated financial statements, monthly account reconciliations and other financial schedules as needed Record intercompany transactions, confirm balances and coordinate information with intercompany counterparts, prepare and process quarterly cash settlements Prepare ad hoc IRS filings, business and property tax filings and governmental data surveys and ensure timely submissions with local and federal agencies Perform ad hoc projects as needed Requirements Are you a numbers whiz with a passion for real estate? What You’ll Be Doing: Preparing clear, accurate monthly financials for our property owners Reconciling bank statements and making sure the books are spotless Helping build annual budgets and forecasts that guide our teams Supporting property managers with the financial info they need to shine Answering questions from owners and tenants with clarity and confidence Staying on top of all those important accounting rules and regulations Requirements What We’re Looking For: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or something similar—or commensurate experience Previous property management accounting experience? Even better!
