Description

McCOR is searching for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team. The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate lease accounting records, ensuring compliance with tenant agreements, and leading possesses strong accounting skills, a solid understanding of real estate accounting principles, and exceptional organizational abilities.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Generate financial analyses and insights related to lease activity, cash flows, and variances to forecast
  • Monitor budget performance, including interim review of estimated CAM reconciliations, and provide variance analysis for revenue accounts, also making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Collaborate with Property Management to prepare year end CAM reconciliations, as well as an annual property budget
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections to support decision-making
  • Participate in budget reviews and meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with Leasing and Property Management to obtain necessary lease information, resolve discrepancies, and validate data accuracy.
  • Monitor critical lease events such as renewals, terminations, and modifications.

Your strengths include:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in the commercial real estate industry
  • Proficiency in using property management software (Yardi Preferred) and Microsoft Excel

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proven experience as a Property Accountant or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
