Description

We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant with strong Yardi expertise to join our team. This role will focus on the accounting functions of a portfolio of commercial real estate properties, with a particular emphasis on medical office buildings. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing full-cycle accounting remotely.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of property accounting experience, with a focus on commercial real estate (medical office property experience strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager (required).
  • Solid understanding of CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and property-level financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with remote teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial/medical office properties, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Maintain property-level accounting in Yardi Voyager, ensuring accurate and timely entries for leases, tenant charges, and operating expenses.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Perform CAM reconciliations and billings, property tax and insurance allocations, and other tenant-related adjustments.
  • Collaborate with property managers and asset managers to review financial performance, budgets, and variances.
  • Assist with annual audits, budget preparation, and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support special projects, process improvements, and system upgrades related to Yardi and accounting workflows.
