Description

We’re looking for an exceptional Property & Facilities Maintenance Lead to join our Property and Facilities Team, based in Ely. Reporting to the Property Manager. The Property & Facilities Maintenance Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of CMR facilities and equipment. This Lead role is responsible for maintenance activities and ensuring that all systems function efficiently at our key sites and all Works is conducted in line with Regulations. Ensuring high standards of equipment performance and safety, this role will directly contribute to the organisation’s overall productivity and helps achieve business objectives.
This role is based on-site at our Ely premises, with travel required to cover UK sites.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, which covers electrical, mechanical and building fabric disciplines. Carrying out maintenance, modifications and installations as and when required.
  • Directly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems & plant rooms, support and establish Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive work via Computer Assisted Facility Management (CAFM) system (e.g. Power Distribution boards, installations, high and low voltage maintenance, including fire alarm systems, PAT testing, emergency lighting, external lighting and portable equipment, compressor systems…)
  • Maintain and repair equipment based on strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, escalating issues as required.
  • Competent to present discipline technical issues and resolutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Improve performance and processes through continuous improvement activities
  • Provide expertise by ensuring that Works is being carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies and procedures.
  • primary escalation point for high-priority technical issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimizing downtime for critical systems.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise both reliability and maintainability. Generates discipline specific, concise, accurate and high quality documentation and/or reports, in line with SFG 20
  • Maintain Asset Register with familiarisation of Asset Management software and procedures.
  • Supervise Contractors and Works.
  • Responsible for issuing permit to works at each site.
  • Work closely with the Senior Operations team on projects and management of building operations. Able to deliver discipline-specific projects.
  • Support the Property Manager with budget forecasting, spend and identifying key areas for improved efficiencies, inclusive of raising purchase orders with budget holder approval, invoice queries
  • 24/7 on-call support as scheduled roster, responding to emergencies and resolving complex issues in real-time
  • Role will lead on support our sustainability and renewable energy initiatives e.g. rainwater harvesting / Electricity / Solar etc…
    We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within this remit that helps the team deliver its objectives.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

  • Have a strong Engineering background within a Facilities Management environment.
  • Previous experience working within large commercial buildings, ideally within healthcare environment (preferably ISO13485). Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Communicate confidently with all internal and external stakeholders and providing clear instructions. Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations (ideally including Electrical Safety, LOLER, PSSR and LEV).
  • Strong organisational skills for managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
