JOB OVERVIEW: MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT (INCLUDING PAINTING AND DECORATING)

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support our Maintenance Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facility. This hands-on role involves a broad range of maintenance tasks, including mechanical and electrical systems, general repairs, and painting and decorating work.
Working as part of a small, dedicated team, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high operational standards across the premises.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a range of equipment
  • Experience in painting and decorating is essential
  • Good project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Basic electrical knowledge or experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing and prioritizing work orders to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
  • Perform regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential issues
  • Carry out a variety of repairs, including mechanical, electrical, and decorative work (painting and decorating)
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialist repairs or installations when required
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work completed, parts used, and costs
  • Monitor stock levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts to ensure availability
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support operational goals and minimize downtime
