Location: North Syracuse, NY – On site Duration: 9 Weeks | Full-Time (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Hourly Rate: $16/hr   Position Summary The Property Management Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the property management and field teams by assisting with administrative, financial, and operational initiatives. This internship provides hands-on exposure to commercial property management, tenant relations, budgeting, and data analysis, offering a strong foundation for a career in real estate. Key Responsibilities * Organize and maintain files, contracts, and internal documentation * Assist with tracking invoices, purchase orders, and expense documentation * Support monthly reporting, budgeting processes, and data entry * Update spreadsheets, property reports, and internal dashboards * Analyze property and portfolio datasets to identify trends and insights * Assist with incident report (IR) management and documentation within SharePoint * Support onboarding processes for new properties * Participate in team meetings and capture meeting minutes as needed * Assist with special projects including audits, insurance documentation, compliance tracking, and capital projects Project-Based Learning Experience Throughout the internship, the intern will contribute to structured projects designed to provide real-world exposure to property management operations: * Snow Analysis Data Review * Contract Library Expiration Audit * Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) Data Analysis * Incident Report (IR) Data Organization and Management * Vehicle Insurance Audit and Inventory Updates * Service Provider Contract Audits (including 16-scope and non-16 scope reviews) * Ongoing SharePoint data management and reporting Professional Development & Learning Topics Interns will gain exposure to key operational and financial concepts, including: * Executive summary reporting and data analysis * Contract lifecycle and RFP (Request for Proposal) processes * Insurance fundamentals, including coverage, risk mitigation, and asset protection * Property management operations and financial workflows Capstone Project Expense Recoding Analysis (2 Weeks)  The intern will complete a capstone project focused on evaluating and improving expense coding processes. This project will include: * Analyzing current expense coding practices * Understanding invoicing workflows and financial system integration * Identifying opportunities for improved consistency and accuracy * Recommending updated coding structures and best practices * Proposing journal entries and guidance for future financial periods Qualifications Required: * Strong organizational and time-management skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) * High attention to detail and willingness to learn * Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred: * Interest in commercial real estate or property management * Experience with spreadsheets, data analysis, or reporting Skills & Competencies * Analytical and problem-solving mindset * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines * Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills * Ability to work both independently and within a team What You’ll Gain * Hands-on experience in commercial property management * Exposure to budgeting, operations, tenant relations, and facilities management * Insight into risk management, insurance processes, and compliance * Understanding of operational goals and financial reporting * Mentorship from experienced property management professionals    Disclaimer: This job description is not all inclusive.
