Initial Reporting Location: 10 Elm Street
Job Status: Permanent Position (Bilingual - English/French)
Affiliation: Non union
Hours of Work: 70 hours bi-weekly

Range of Pay: Group 11 - $3,197.60 to $3,764.60 bi-weekly

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Diploma in a related discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Social Sciences or Public Administration) from a recognized Community College with Canadian accreditation.
  • Additional specialized training (e.g., Certificate in Property Management) considered a definite asset.
  • Additional educational initiatives to update and expand competencies considered an asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience including experience in residential property management.
  • CGS’s priorities.
  • Applicable legislation and related regulations.
  • Social Housing issues, policies, and programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and applicable notices.
  • Principle and practices of Property Management.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office applications and Property Management software.
  • Current and emerging management issues within CGS as they affect the Division.
  • Best practices within areas of responsibility.
  • Horizontal linkages to other relevant governmental levels and services as well as the private sector.
  • Understand and meet the needs of customers.
  • Set and achieve high standards for the Division.
  • Create enthusiasm and motivation for employees within the Division.
  • Create and respond appropriately to a continuous learning environment.
  • Manage conflict; mediate disputes; assist in reaching consensus.
  • Diplomacy when interacting with tenants, especially during difficult conversations.
  • Mental and physical fitness to perform essential job functions.

  • Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
  • French verbal skills and a good working knowledge of written French is required.
  • May require the use of a personal or CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and personal insurance coverage.
  • Provide, at own cost, a Vulnerable Sector Check.

    This job is also being posted as a development opportunity. Should there be no fully qualified candidate for this position, a candidate who can be expected to meet the required qualifications within a reasonable period of time may be considered for this position as a development opportunity.
    Development opportunity range of pay: $2,912.70 to $3,427.20 bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced range until the minimum qualifications have been met.
