Description

Location: Squamish or Pemberton
Hours of Work: 35hrs/wk; typically Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm. Occasional after hours/on call support as needed.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full-Time
Compensation: $65,629 - $68,341
Start date: As soon as possible

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate, license or diploma in property management or related field.
  • Diploma related to the area of building maintenance and construction.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in property management environment; including direct experience working in and with trades/maintenance and in conducting building inspections.
  • Certified Property Manager designation is considered an asset.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the principles and practices of residential property management services, in particular relating to social housing delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and rules and regulations, policies and procedures related to property management.
  • Sound knowledge of facilities management and building cycle maintenance practices.
  • Possesses business acumen and analytical skills to anticipate financial and business requirements and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications such as MS Office, databases/records management and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, labour legislation, collective agreement language, WorkSafe BC practices/protocols and OHS Regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Responds to tenant enquiries, complaints, and emergencies. Provides tenancy information and clarification as required and takes appropriate action as necessary.
  • Identifies tenant issues related to suite maintenance or compliance with residential tenancy agreement and follows-up with appropriate action.
  • Organizes and participates in tenant selection committee meetings.
  • Negotiates leases with tenants and ensures collection of security deposits and rent payments.
  • Manages budgets as assigned; monitors and approves expenses; seeks quotes; may provide input for the development of budgets for agency facilities.
  • Ensures that all buildings and grounds comply with local and strata bylaws, permits, regulations and building codes.
  • Ensures the effective maintenance and operation of buildings and grounds by assigning and following up on work orders to building maintenance staff or through contracting outside services.
  • Performs unit and facility inspections at intervals as prescribed by regulation and/or policy and ensures appropriate documentation is filed.
  • Oversees the work of suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends as required.
  • Supports program staff. Assists in such personnel activities as interviewing, hiring, training staff, performance management and discipline issues.
  • Manages agency vehicle fleet to ensure regular maintenance and inspections are completed. Provides recommendations to programs for new leases and purchases.
  • Available for after-hours on-call coverage as needed.
  • Other related duties as required.
