Description The Camp Timberlane Property Operations Manager position also includes the oversite and maintenance of the GSNEO Sheffield DreamLab/Service Center. The Property Operations Manager is responsible for the proper maintenance and protection of camp property and other assigned location(s) on a year-round basis and ensures the best possible health and safety conditions for the campers. The Manager welcomes and interacts with staff, members, vendors, and visitors in a positive manner as a representative of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. The Manager ensures that council owned camps comply with all GSUSA and American Camping Association guidelines and standards for building and grounds as well as compliance with all local, State and Federal codes for health and safety regulations. The incumbent performs these duties in close partnership with the Chief Operating Officer (CEO). MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Oversees the day-to-day operations and repairs of the property, facilities and mechanical equipment including routine checks, inspections, tests, and other related actions essential to anticipate or prevent untimely expenditures Keeps accurate written records of work schedules, log activities, purchases, test results, inspection reports, inventories, and all recorded information pertinent to the overall operation of the camp Maintains grounds including cleaning and removing litter; snow removal from walks and driveways; planting grass and other landscaping; mowing; cleaning draining ditches and culverts and other duties related to grounds maintenance Evaluates and proceeds with plans to protect and enhance all nature resources related to the properties, including but not limited to wetland enhancement or mitigation, wildlife management, and timber management as apparent or assigned Manages Camp Rangers as assigned (See Managerial Responsibilities below) On-call 24/7 when there are campers or rentals on property; assigns a Camp Ranger to this responsibility when not on property Works in collaboration with program staff on site usage procedures and plans of outside rental groups Attends various meetings to contribute to the development of projects, plans, and policies including but not limited to cross-functional team meetings (Girl Experience and Properties), all staff meetings, and various construction/project meetings. Suggests and supervises work projects that troops may participate in as a service project Contributes to the development of the council’s annual operating budget Oversees the year-round check-in process to ensure support for troop/groups using the camp facilities Coordinate equipment and supply usage Opens and closes designated facilities as scheduled and inspects these facilities in a timely manner Directs or delegates direction of outside work crews (AmeriCorps, corporate volunteers, school groups, etc.) After camper departure, immediately reports evidence of misuse or missing equipment Maintains the security of the property including management of traffic and to minimize vandalism Other duties as assigned to promote the successful implementation of GSNEO’s goals/objectives Requirements High School Diploma or GED Work-related experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, painting, masonry, routine maintenance, general repairs and operation of tractors and motorized equipment Class I Water Distribution Operator License or the ability to take the exam and be an “Operator in Training” within 90 days of employment in this role Record of successfully developing and/or managing projects Computer literacy and technical knowledge of computer software programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and the internet Strong human relations skills such as leadership, networking and relationship building Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external customers Ability to pay close attention to detail Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary Well-disciplined and able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines Self-starter Ability to work well as a part of a team Excellent customer service skills Commitment to inclusiveness Knowledge of the Girl Scout program is a plus Valid driver’s license; and access to insured vehicle in working condition.
