Description

Emerging Tech is seeking a Proposal Content Designer to join our Business Development team and elevate the visual and narrative quality of our federal contract proposals. This combined role will craft compelling, compliance-driven content while designing polished page layouts, infographics, and data visualizations that align with federal solicitation requirements. The ideal candidate blends strong technical writing skills, deep familiarity with government RFP/RFI/RFQ formats, and advanced graphic design proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Layout
  • Create and maintain proposal templates, master page layouts, and style guides in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Develop clear, on-brand infographics, charts, process flows, and call-out graphics that reinforce key win themes.
  • Ensure all visual elements meet federal formatting rules (margins, fonts, headers/footers, pagination).
  • Technical Writing & Editing
  • Draft and refine proposal sections such as Technical Approach, Management Plan, Past Performance, and Corporate Experience.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise narrative tailored for government evaluators.
  • Perform substantive and copy editing for grammar, tone, consistency, and RFP/RFI compliance.
  • Proposal Production & Compliance
  • Collaborate with Proposal Manager, SMEs, and BD staff to integrate text and visuals into cohesive final deliverables.
  • Conduct document reviews, quality control checks, and compliance audits to ensure 100% adherence to solicitation instructions.
  • Manage version control and maintain a centralized proposal asset library.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work asynchronously with remote teams to gather data, content, and graphic assets.
  • Mentor junior designers and writers on best practices for federal proposal development.
  • Support rapid-turnaround Sources Sought notices, Market Research memos, and executive summaries as needed.
  • Throughput & Metrics
  • Contribute at least 8–10 high-quality designed pages of new content per RFP, and support 2+ full proposal submissions monthly.
  • Track design and writing cycle times; recommend process improvements to maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Technical Communication, English, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ combined experience in federal proposal graphic design and technical writing.
  • Proven track record of supporting at least three (3) awarded federal proposals in the last 18 months.
  • Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with government contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS) and solicitation compliance standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable liaising with senior leadership and diverse technical teams.
