Description The Wooten Company’s Raleigh, NC headquarters is seeking an experienced Proposal Design Specialist to join our Marketing and Business Development Team. Who are you? You relish the challenge of transforming the elements of a proposal into a dynamite deliverable greater than the sum of its parts. The right person for this role has experience working with fellow marketing team members as well as technical staff to manage multiple projects at once – and get them across the finish line with flying colors. You are detail-oriented, highly organized, and have mastery of design and CRM software. You are eager to use your knowledge and experience creating compelling proposals and presentations that support the company’s business development efforts across the Carolinas and beyond. What will you be doing? The Proposal Design Specialist helps kick off proposals with technical staff and may assist with researching and compiling client/project history and staff resumes. But your core focus will be creating engaging, brand-adherent proposals that demonstrate our capabilities to current and prospective clients. This will involve processing images, developing appealing visuals, and crafting engaging layouts using the Adobe Creative Suite. You will coordinate with project managers and other staff to refine the final product. You will coordinate final submittal of some proposals to potential clients, including printing and packaging, and also be involved in the proposal closeout process to record any useful information in our VantagePoint Deltek CRM. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Business Development, works with an experienced marketing team, and collaborates with project managers and engineers across all offices in North and South Carolina Where will you be working? This position is based at our headquarters in Downtown Raleigh, nestled in the Glenwood South District. Just a block away are restaurants and nightlife, unique shops, art galleries and studios, and convenient apartment and condominium living. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop dynamic proposals, qualifications, and presentation layouts Promote visual interest through creation of appealing graphic elements Ensure brand consistency and strategic positioning across all materials Possess familiarity formatting project descriptions, resumes, etc. Adhere to RFP/RFQ requirements that satisfy goals in proposal briefs Proactively acquire content from team members and subconsultants Support research of clients and competitors to inform strategy Assist with coordination of proposal schedules and meeting deadlines Prepare final submittals including printing, binding, and packaging Stand ready, as needed, to lead proposals from kickoff to completion Maintain marketing CRM with most up-to-date and high quality information Contribute to continuous improvement of pursuit process and templates MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Visual Arts, or related field 6-10 years of experience in proposal development within the AEC industry KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Mastery of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop with proficiency in Microsoft O365 Experience with CRM/proposal systems (Deltek VantagePoint preferred) Demonstrated experience with brand alignment and strategic proposal layout Strong editing, proofreading and technical review skills Ability and desire to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong organizational skills, initiative, and problem-solving ability Energetic team player who can work comfortably with people of diverse skills & experience Excellent communication, multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills Knowledge of the production printing process a plus but not required ABOUT THE WOOTEN COMPANY We are a multi-disciplinary firm dedicated to providing engineering, geomatics and architectural services to municipalities, counties, water and sewer authorities, educational institutions, mission critical facilities, and private industry across the Carolinas.
