Job Description Type: Hybrid Location: York, PA Position Summary & Objective The Proposal Leader prepares company proposals and works to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. The Proposal Leader will collaborate with various departments throughout the company to review and assess project plans. Responsible for creating proposals and maintaining communication with prospects. Accountabilities Development of final and budgetary proposals for company products and services Leadership and coordination of technical and commercial information necessary to respond to customer and company needs Essential Functions Performed by the Position Take ownership in preparation/ follow-up of proposals for company products and services in response to customer requests by: Gaining full understanding of customer needs through thorough review of customer provided information and communication with respective account manager Communicating proposal requirements to functional departments Soliciting and evaluating quotations from potential major subcontractors with support from our engineering departments Compiling and reviewing functional department proposal input to ensure compliance with customer technical and commercial requirements Maintaining and ensuring the dispositioning of entries into the proposal risk register Preparing the necessary pricing with input from estimating, supply chain and other departments, as necessary Ensuring the proposal communicates the strategy and messaging thereof Addressing customer feedback/questions concerning proposal submittals Leading contract negotiations with customers Preparing contract release documentation Address customer requests for preliminary pricing, technical and performance information Customer presentations and on-site meetings Participation in trade shows Provide support to the project management team Prepare and execute all internal approval requirements in support of the company’s quality system Improve proposal development processes and efficiency Develop hydro turbine technical product knowledge Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General business knowledge Proposal project management knowledge Data analytics Ability to collaborate Ability to work in teams and individually Ability to communicate effectively Ability to adapt to new changes Detail oriented Ability to manage proposal software Qualifications Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business, with five (5) years of experience in technical proposal preparation, technical sales and/or complex project management OR equivalent experience Additional Information The benefits of joining our team Because we seek to hire the best people, we work hard to provide benefits that make their lives better, so we offer a comprehensive benefit program which features: health coverage for you and your family through medical, dental and vision plans a 401(k) plan in with a generous company match financial protection through disability, life, and accidental death & dismemberment insurance plans tax advantages through flexible spending accounts that allow you to pay for specific health-care and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars a generous paid time off program in which the benefits increase along with your tenure with the company When you join our team, you do more than simply switch companies to progress your career.
