About the role
Balfour Beatty, a leading international infrastructure group, is seeking to recruit an Proposal Writer to join our Regional Build and Regional Civils team in Birmingham. In this role you will support the preparation and and management of high quality proposals for major infrastructure projects across our regional portfolio.
Our ideal candidate will have strong technical experience, a good eye for details and great organisational skills. You will work closely with our Project Managers along with other stakeholders to ensure our bids align with client expectations, company standards and best practices.
What you’ll be doing

As a Proposal Writer you will:

  • Understand the customer requirements, research, collate and write material in order to meet the requirements for pre-qualification and tender submission
  • Research and write supporting information for use in proposals, including case studies, CVs, project best practice and project innovations
  • Develop approach to and facilitate answer planning and writing workshops
  • Support and carry out independent and critical reviews of selected responses
  • Work to a programme of deliverables to meet tender requirements
  • Engage in regular communication with the work winning team
  • Capture and support development of bid ‘win themes’ from tender strategy meetings
  • Write specific responses to meet the needs of a submission, SQ, tender, or other material
  • Maintain project-specific case studies and value reports to demonstrate benefits and added value
  • Produce bespoke material to support business development and account management activities.
