JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, the Prospect Research Analyst serves a key role in the identification, qualification, and research of major/planned gift prospects, requiring the ability to: gather, summarize, and disseminate large volumes of information from numerous sources; make recommendations for solicitation strategies; attend events and engagements as required; and compose prospect briefings and profiles. Demonstrating a firm and informed understanding of prospect management and fundraising within a higher education context as well as a commitment to data integrity, the incumbent supports the Major and Planned Giving teams in addition to the College President, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and Oxy Fund team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in the liberal arts, social sciences, philanthropy, research, or other fields of study related to position responsibilities.
Three or more years of progressively responsible and professional experience with research, writing, or analysis responsibilities.
Demonstrated research skills and the ability to interpret business and financial data. Demonstrated proficiency in using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and data analytics tools to drive decision-making and strategy. Ability to leverage emerging technology to develop new ways to identify potential donors. Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans that align with organizational goals. Ability to analyze, synthesize and organize data, and present findings in a comprehensible manner for different audiences. Demonstrated ability to use different reporting interfaces and methods, such as dashboards, on-demand reporting, mobile reporting, and scheduled reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google drives/folders/forms, Adobe Acrobat, Web Editing, and social media applications or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Strong commitment to a quality work product. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically. Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies. Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion & diversity. Demonstrated skill in adapting to and performing work effectively in high-volume, high accountability, confidential environment with multiple and changing priorities. Effective organizational, logistical, time management and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, prioritize and fulfill the functions of an office in a timely manner. Ability to provide effective leadership and training, and to work effectively and professionally across functions, disciplines, levels, and with diverse groups.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Training through Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA); seminars and workshops through the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for prospect research and management.
Professional research experience; experience in higher education or philanthropy.
EXPECTED SALARY: $73,000/yr-$75,000/yr

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the base salary range for the role.
