About the Role:
We have an exciting permanent, full time, opportunity for a Prospect Researcher to join our Fundraising team based out of Blackburn, Melbourne or Redfern, Sydney. Reporting to the Prospect Research and Development Manager this role will support the expansion of our prospect management infrastructure/framework and provide proactive and reactive in depth background into high value prospects for The Salvation Army. This research will include looking into prospects histories, motivations for philanthropy and recommendations for solicitations to support the growing Transformational Gifts program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research, including due diligence, to develop comprehensive research profiles and briefings for high-value prospects and donors
  • Provide market intelligence and supporter insights to assist in developing, retaining, and growing relationships with high-value supporters
  • Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline, ensuring that supporter details are documented to enable an insightful, seamless, and quality supporter journey
  • Assess the capacity and inclination among newly assigned prospects
  • Identify other philanthropic interests of current prospects and donors

About you:

  • A degree with subsequent relevant research experience in a related field such as not-for-profit, higher education, journalism or corporate research
  • Ability to exercise judgement as to relevance of information and the manner of sourcing it
  • Sound judgement and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive donor information
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of the business
  • High level of computer literacy in MS Office Suite, CRM systems and presentation software
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and organise information to identify philanthropic patterns, tendencies and relationships among individuals, corporations and foundations
