Work in an environment that offers: An opportunity to work with a leading regional health service An ability to live and work in a vibrant regional setting A strong attitude to teaching and learning The Position Job Reference: 3019 Position Title: Prostate Cancer Specialist NurseClassification: YW17Salary per hour (exc. super): $59.09Hours per fortnight: 64 Employment Status: Fixed Term Part Time (November 2028) Closing date: 19/10/2025 The role of the Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse (PCSN) is to provide specialised evidence-based care and support for men with prostate cancer, and their families, including targeted education; expert assistance navigating the health care system; symptom and side-effect assessment and management; and long-term survivorship care, with a strong focus on personal agency, health promotion and wellbeing. The PCSN is a primary point of contact for men and their families. The PCSN position is 0.8 FTE, for a maximum fixed term contract of 36 months. The PCSN will be based within the Cancer Centre, providing a service four days per week 8.30 – 5pm. Operationally, the role will report to the Nurse Unit Manager and to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) nursing manager. We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty services including but not limited to; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services. Within a state-of-the-art hospital, our Ambulatory and Critical Care, Medical Services, Surgical Services and Women’s and Children’s (including an Early Parenting Centre) areas use the latest technologies to provide excellent care. Our world class Cancer Centre uses a multi-disciplinary, integrated approach to treat specific cancers. The Cancer Centre offers medical oncology, radiation oncology, specialist nurses, clinical trials and cancer research, palliative care, and a Cancer Wellness Program. The Mental Health Service provides psychiatric care and treatment across a large catchment covering the Loddon Mallee region. Family sensitive practice is central to our models of mental health care and best practice ensures the identification, inclusion and support of families, carers and children. Each year our onsite Specialist Clinics provide over 100,000 service events, we also see more than 60,000 people in our Emergency Department and welcome around 1700 babies into the world.
