Position Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Protein Innovation Center Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise to enhance our operations and support our customers. Your contributions will ensure our facility remains a showcase for the latest advancements in food processing. Key Responsibilities: Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and electronically. Maintain the facility in a showcase-ready state, including washing and sanitizing all surfaces after events. Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes. Implement food safety protocols in alignment with Codex Alimentarius (GFSI) guidelines. Develop strategies for addressing unexpected business situations. Provide subject matter expertise in protein marination and product curing processes. Oversee basic test kitchen supplies and tabletop appliances/equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues to identify variables and deficiencies. Maintain accurate records of scheduling, protein inventory, and supplies. Develop and organize standard training programs for the Protein Innovation Center. Source suppliers for protein and dry ingredients as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Why Join Us? Food Processing Experience with ingredients, meat science, sanitation, and processing preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in high-speed food manufacturing equipment, specifically in meat processing. Strong knowledge of beef and pork primal cuts, processed meats, and food product development. Basic understanding of meat and poultry laboratory science and ingredient functionality. Familiarity with USDA/FDA food safety directives and HACCP certification. Global Food Safety Initiative background is a plus. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to pick up supplies and ingredients.
