MEDNA Scientific is an Irving, Texas-based company that supplies and supports the biopharma industry. We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Prototype Engineer.
This position provides a unique opportunity for a person aspiring to join and contribute to a fast-paced team at a rapidly expanding company with a cutting-edge technology platform and ample opportunity to grow with the company.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality applications. They will also be responsible for designing and implementing testable and scalable code.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
· Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as they relate to 3D design, 3D printing, electrical components, and mechanical assembly
· Working knowledge of hardware interfaces
· Strong attention to detail as well as strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
· Experience working in a cross-functional team
· Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills
· Exemplary ability to communicate effectively at all business levels with product users and engineers in technical and non-technical terms
· Strong ability to document and analyze complex technical issues independently
Additional experience highly preferred:
· Experience with EagleCAD
· Experience with SolidWorks
What you will do:
· Work closely with engineering teams to perform prototyping and validation tasks required with minimal supervision
· Produce 2D and 3D drawings using computer aided design and drafting tools
· Assemble wiring and components of electrical systems
· Assemble mechanical structures
· Characterize electrical and mechanical components using measurement instrumentation (current, temperature, pressure, flow rate, etc.)
· Strong knowledge of SolidWorks
· Maintain proper documentation
· Gather mechanical or PCB physical design inputs, interpret requirements and translate into CAD tools
· Modify previous designs as needed based on new product designs
· Perform incoming inspection to verify conformance and connectivity of PCB’s
· Performs other duties as assigned by management or needed by team
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Ability to lift light packages up to 30 lbs. is required
