Overview:
The effective and rapid onboarding of qualified and appropriate physicians and advance practice providers into the medical group is vital to the financial success of NHMG, the access of care for our patients, and the initial job satisfaction of our newly hired providers.The Onboarding Navigator works closely with physicians and/or advanced practice clinicians (“providers”) during the initial onboarding functions, gathering required supporting documentation, entering the electronic application data, and arranging onboarding processes. Performs all functions in compliance with Novant Health Credentialing and Medical Staff Office (CMSO) policies and procedures, the guidelines of The Joint Commission (TJC), as well as all other applicable State and Federal laws. The Credentialing Navigator proactively facilitates all aspects of the credentialing, privileging, and provider enrollment processes for providers to be employed successfully by Novant Health Medical Group. Primary focus is to navigate providers through the credentialing/privileging/enrollment/human resource processes. This includes being the providers’ one point of contact throughout the pre-employment onboarding process through hire. The navigator is responsible for managing communication with all impacted departments related to the providers’ progression through all required steps, to include but not limited to: credentialing with appropriate medical staff offices, enrollment with third party payers, and human resource/recruitment activities. Communicates with the provider and recruiter at regular intervals. Promptly escalates any problems, errors, or other issues that may create delays in the providers’ start date.

Qualifications:

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 1 Year relevant experience, required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED:

  • Outstanding verbal and written skills required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, i.e., able to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and team collaboration tools).
  • Strong collaborative, planning and team building skills.
  • Ability to follow through with assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to support strategic directions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): Broad-based knowledge of health care operations; Experience in Provider Credentialing processes including state licensures, DEA, certification requirements, etc.
