PROVINCIAL SALES MANAGER – ALBERTA

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years field sales experience with a minimum of 3 years in a sales leadership role
  • Experience in key account management preferably in CPG
  • Proven track record in successfully motivating sales teams and driving results
  • Ability to build and maintain effective and accountable working relationships with decision makers and internal stakeholders
  • Advanced computer and CRM skills, fluent in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and PowerBI
  • Proficiency in analyzing sales data and market trends to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed
  • Ability to understand critical customer needs, develop and deploy creative selling solutions to drive volume and profitability
  • Highly effective communication, product knowledge and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management with significant attention to detail
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry and regulations strongly preferred
  • Willingness to balance both office hours and meaningful time in market
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and well-maintained reliable vehicle
  • Will be required to obtain and maintain valid provincial cannabis worker certifications; AB Sell Safe and QCW

Responsibilities

ROLE PROFILE

We are currently seeking a Provincial Sales Manager - Alberta to join our team based in Calgary or Edmonton. Reporting to the Director of Sales - Western Canada, the PSM will be responsible for leading a team of Territory Managers as well as maintaining and growing mutually beneficial and profitable relationships with Alberta’s largest key account partners. The PSM role is critical in driving performance against KPIs and building awareness, distribution, and velocity in the region. Your leadership will foster a creative and efficient field sales team, leading the region to its achievement of the sales plan.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Alberta sales team, ensuring they are motivated and equipped to meet targets
  • Assess and support team performance through regular trade visits in the region while providing coaching on product knowledge, sales best practices, and executional standards
  • Identify sales opportunities in the region that support distribution, volume, and market share targets
  • Own and manage relationships with key customers identified as a Regional Key Accounts
  • Work with the Director of Sales – Western Canada to ensure the region is on track with sales objectives, provide clear feedback on successful initiatives and challenges, and contribute actionable solutions that can be implemented in a timely fashion
  • Identify short and long-term solutions to ensure sales targets are met through building strategic customer plans to sustain growth and address any commercial gaps
  • Achieve sales and profitability targets for assigned customers that support and deliver to the regional targets
  • Work collaboratively with the broader commercial team to understand strategic priorities and opportunities
  • Support the AB Territory Manager’s weekly planning process to drive efficiency and focus
  • Track and manage the CRM to ensure compliance and accurate records of customer engagement, best practices, call frequency and performance
  • Actively support Trade Marketing efforts for retail partners to ensure timely deployment of brand activities
