The Paediatric Provisional Fellow will provide effective clinical management of patients, under appropriate supervision, including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures and maintaining adequate medical records; and to develop expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.
The Provisional Fellow will provide care for patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position is suited to an Advanced Trainee close to completing their training, as it is designed to encourage professional development as a consultant with inpatient, outpatient and on-call clinical responsibilities. In particular, the role is suited for a trainee with a demonstrated interest in practising in a regional setting.
In addition to clinical work, the Provisional Fellow has a focus on advocacy, education and mentoring of Junior Medical Officers, including providing organisational support in all matters related to JMO administration, rostering, orientation, and staff wellbeing (supported by staff specialists).
This position is accredited with the Royal Australasian College of Physician for six months core rural training, and, by negotiation with the College, 6 months acute care training or 6 months community/developmental training. This is a 12 month position with the potential to consider a job share arrangement by negotiation.
