This position is accredited as a PFET training position for Transplantation. The position is suitable for General Surgeons who also have interest and experience in Vascular Surgery, and for Vascular Surgeons who wish to train in Renal Transplantation.
The position provides the opportunity to actively participate and train under appropriate supervision in the provision of effective clinical management in the surgical aspects of renal transplantation. In addition, experience and training is also gained in the provision and maintenance of vascular access including patients with renal failure who are unsuitable for transplantation. There is also an opportunity to participate in the provision of general vascular surgical care depending on the incumbent’s interest and expertise.
The position is a key position in the Unit and requires effective interaction with all members of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes the ability to deal with and respond to complex matters with discretion and sensitivity in a timely manner.
