The Provisional Fellow will be responsible for overseeing the care of trauma patients admitted to the Trauma Unit. He/ She will be expected to function at the level of a junior consultant. Clinical trauma nursing staff support includes Trauma Clinical Nurse Consultants and Trauma Registered Nurses. The Provisional Fellow will be expected to provide leadership at all Major Trauma calls during business hours, and when on-call. He/ She is also expected to be available to assist in major trauma cases if required at other times. He/she is expected to supervise and teach the junior members of the Trauma Unit. The Provisional Fellow will be supervised by the Trauma Consultant of the week. These positions are accredited by the Australia New Zealand Association for the Surgery of Trauma for post-fellowship training in trauma.

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Possess/ Awaiting Fellowship of the RACS or equivalent
• Sound clinical knowledge in Trauma and General Surgery
• Demonstrated successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
• High level interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team
• Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.
