A PSA may provide supports to a person with a disability at home, work, school, church, and other community places. A PSA also acts as an advocate for the participant in communicating their needs, self-expression and goals. The Personal Support Assistant (PSA) is responsible to provide direct services to participants including but not limited to maintaining a clean, safe living environment, supporting and/or providing healthcare needs, preparing meals, budgeting and shopping and providing supervision, training, and assisting the participants in every aspect of their lives, while promoting their maximum level of independence.
