Are you an empathetic educator who wants to transform stressful test prep into a confidence-building opportunity? Modulo is seeking a skilled tutor to support homeschool students preparing for the PSAT—particularly those who may feel anxious around testing. This is a remote, contract-based role with flexible scheduling.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong content knowledge of PSAT reading, writing, and/or math. PSAT or SAT scoring experience helpful.
  • Experience tutoring test prep, preferably PSAT, SAT, or ACT.
  • Ability to personalize instruction based on diagnostic feedback.
  • Skilled at teaching stress management and building confidence.
  • Familiarity with official PSAT/SAT resources and trusted platforms like Khan Academy or the College Board question banks.
  • Experience working with homeschoolers, gifted learners, or students with asynchronous learning profiles or anxiety is a plus.
  • Reliable internet, professional online presence, and clear communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Teach personalized, one-on-one online sessions targeting PSAT content and strategy.
  • Conduct an initial diagnostic to pinpoint strengths and focus areas.
  • Help students practice using official PSAT or SAT questions under timed conditions.
  • Track progress regularly and provide clear feedback along with encouragement.
  • Teach test-taking strategies—process of elimination, time management, pacing.
  • Coach students in anxiety-reduction techniques such as mindful breathing, reframes, and simulation practice.
  • Recommend homework or self-study tools—including Khan Academy, CollegeBoard resources, practice tests, and reputable AI tutors—to support daily habits and reinforcement.
  • Communicate with families about progress, goals, and next steps.
