Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and certified Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide essential, one-on-one support to clients in Beaverton, Ontario. In this vital role, you will enhance our clients’ quality of life, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being within their homes or care facilities. This position requires a nurturing attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform the physical duties of the role.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from an accredited Ontario institution.
  • Must provide a recent and clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Professional references are required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including assisting with mobility and transfers.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous professional experience in home care, assisted living, or long-term care settings.
  • Familiarity with dementia care, palliative/hospice support, or working with individuals with disabilities is a strong asset.
    Important Note on Location: As this is a part-time position that requires flexibility and reliability, preference will be given to qualified candidates who are currently living in Beaverton or the immediate surrounding area.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Provide meaningful companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being.
  • Prepare meals according to specific dietary requirements and client preferences.
  • Provide medication reminders and assistance as outlined in the care plan.
  • Safely assist with transfers, lifts, and repositioning, ensuring client safety at all times.
  • Offer specialized care and support for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment through light housekeeping tasks.
  • Collaborate with the client’s family and healthcare team to ensure a comprehensive and consistent care plan.
