Description

Works collaboratively with the Director of Care to manage the general day to day operations of the Personal Support Workers (PSWs).
Participates in the hiring, orientation, evaluation, coaching and mentoring of PSWs.
Onboarding PSWs – POC documentation, care plan/kardex, shift report and arranging PSW partnership for onboarding orientation shifts etc.
Monitors the care and services provided to residents through direct supervision and formal and information audits, on all shifts by way of: Leadership rounds, care audits, equipment and sling audits, meal and snack audits, hand hygiene, PPE and IPAC skill audits per schedule, analyse results and report analysis at monthly quality meetings.
Monitor, audit and distribution of nursing supplies, continence products, IPAC and cytotoxic supplies as per daily/weekly/monthly schedule as directed by supervisor.
Promote improved practices through mentorship, coaching and education.
